It's Academic

Students are selected for the It's Academic team after competitions held within the school. The team needs students who can quickly recall information from various academic disciplines. Practices for competitions are held once a week throughout the year. The team participates in the WJZ-Channel 13 It's Academic television program and at the University of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University competitions.

Meeting and Special Dates

Practice dates are announced. Upperclassmen are encouraged to participate. The meeting venue is FC-3.

Competitions

All interested students are encouraged to cheer for the team of three students representing South River High School when they compete on television. The competition dates are usually announced.

Whether you are an expert in all fields or specialize in specific fields such as history, literature, mathematics, or science, It's Academic may just be the perfect extracurricular for you! See the videos linked to below to see what we do.
