SRHS Government Service Learning

Government students at South River have recently begun their service learning with a focus on poverty. The preparation, action and reflection parts of their learning will include activities that will be done in school and at home. Some of the web sites they will be using: Hunger 101, Food Research and Action Center (Maryland data), National Center for Children in Poverty (Maryland Profile)

Interims Distributed March 12th

Students will receive their interim reports during their advisory period on Friday, March 12th.

Attention Parents!

Advanced Placement (AP) Parent and AP Potential Night will be held on Thursday, March 4th at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  Current AP Parents will be given information on about AP Exam registration.  Parents of prospective AP students will receive information about the AP courses that are offered at South River.

AP Testing

Registration for AP exams begins February 22, 2010 and ends on March 19, 2010. Make checks payable to South River High School, and all cash amounts must be exact.Return registration forms to Ms. Jentilet or Ms. Mann in the Main Office. Do Not leave forms or money with anyone other than Ms. Jentilet or Ms. Mann.
There are no refunds for AP Exams!

Gang Awareness

There will be a gang awareness meeting on February 11th at Central Middle School. Presenations presented by the Office of the State's Attorney. All are welcome. For more information a link to the flyer is provided below.

Walk-a-Thon

The Wallk-a-Thon has been rescheduled to April 10th.The walk will be around the Crofton Parkway to benefit the Soles 4 Soles shoe drive. Come by yourself or walk as a team. Be there at 9:30am (The Walk begins at 10:00am). Create your team and prepare to walk!

Soles for Souls

22% of people in the world don't have shoes. Bring lightly worn shoes and drop them in the Drop Boxes. Drop Boxes are located in the office and the hallways. South River is in Competition with the Key School to collect more shoes. South River wants to collect 2300 or more pairs of shoes. Donate $5 and buy 2 pairs of shoes for a needy child. SAT Tests

 The SAT test has many dates at which it can be taken. Visit the College Board web site at www.collegeboard.com and register for the test. School Code: 210494
